About

The Story

Macaria can speak to the dead, a gift that makes her an invaluable asset to the Grimsile Detective Unit. But there’s one case she can’t crack: her own. She died… so why is she still here?

By day, she’s just another student trying to juggle schoolwork and friendships. But behind the scenes, she’s knee-deep in grisly homicides, chilling kidnappings, and restless spirits demanding justice. As the cases pile up, so do the questions about her own twisted fate.

Torn between two worlds and running out of time, Macaria must solve more than just crimes; she must uncover the truth behind her unnatural life. Because staying alive might be the most dangerous case of all.

FAQ

Q: What is your update schedule and how can I be notified?

This comic is updated every Saturday, and you can subscribe through my mailing list or RSS.

Q: What was the main inspiration for Chained to Me?

I always loved magic and wizardry, having adored Harry Potter growing up and later on becoming a fan of Supernatural and the manga ‘The Witch and the Beast ‘. I was also inspired by the 1800s, where being born as a commoner looked like a sin or an automatic ‘slave’ label plastered on their forehead. So I made the students of Grimsile, who had some sort of magic in them, looked down upon by a certain group as sinners.

Q: Will this comic be printed?

I’m aiming to have a volume out every 4-5 chapters. Volume 1 will be from chapter 1 to 5, and I’m aiming to have it printed by August 2027.
